Santosh Kumar, Ph.D.​

CEO and Co-Founder

Santosh has 25 years of experience in research and software development. In addition to serving as CEO for CuesHub, Santosh is a Professor of Computer Science and Director of an NIH-funded national research center in AI for wearables. His multidisciplinary research has resulted in AI algorithms for automatically detecting stress and stressors from wearables and pattern mining algorithms for delivering stress interventions. To protect user privacy when using AI in wearables, his research has discovered and characterized emerging privacy risks and developed mitigation approaches. He has collaborated with domain experts to develop wearable technology for job performance monitoring, stress management, relationship conflicts, behavior change, smoking cessation, overeating, congestive heart failure, oral health, cocaine and opioid addiction, and chronic pain.

In addition to work, Santosh enjoys reading, running, spending time with family, organizing social events, and watching movies.

Timothy Hnat, Ph.D.

CTO and Co-Founder

Tim has 17 years of experience developing cutting-edge AI technology for wearables and smart devices. Prior to becoming full-time CTO for CuesHub, Tim was the Chief Software Architect for two NIH-funded national research centers in AI for wearables. He led the development of research-grade software for wearables, smartphones, and cloud that enabled cutting-edge scientific studies on sensor-triggered mobile interventions. Research groups in medicine, psychology, engineering, and computing across 11 states in the U.S. have collected hundreds of terabytes of wearable sensor data using this software to push the frontiers of research in a wide variety of health, wellness, and work performance domains. Previously, as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science, his research resulted in new software platforms for smart homes and AI for wearables.

In addition to work, Tim enjoys spending time with family, photography, tennis, and is an avid amateur ballroom dancer.

Hi, my name is Priya. I’m a UX designer and researcher with a background in Psychology. I’m studying Human-Computer Interaction at Indiana University Bloomington. I care about building human-centered products. I love using first principles and systems thinking to solve problems. I’m interested in how people think and make decisions. I like learning about mental models, metacognition, and the brain. I’m looking forward to gaining new perspectives about the health-tech space through this internship!

For 25 years, he has been coaching executives all over the globe to build winning cultures in the workplace, grow leadership skills, better engage employees, and improve the customer experience. He has worked with household names such as Hilton, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, and Macy’s. He advises CuesHub on product design, marketing, and sales strategies for CuesHub’s Employer Dashboard.

John Jefferies

HealthTech Advisor

Dr. John Jefferies is an internationally recognized cardiologist specializing in cardiomyopathies, heart failure, genetics, heritable disease, artificial intelligence, and rare diseases. He has edited two leading textbooks in cardiology and published over 300 articles. He is the immediate past Governor of the Tennessee Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the immediate President of the American Heart Association Mid-South region. He received an MBA from the Wharton Business School. He advises CuesHub on product design, marketing, and partnerships with employers, providers, insurers, and pharmaceuticals.
